Full job description
Under the direct supervision of the Direct Services Manager, the Direct Services Coordinator administers and oversees the planning, organization and financial management of multiple direct services provided by the Worcester Commission on Aging for the senior population, including relative programs of the Maryland Department of Aging: Senior Care and National Family Caregiver Support Program.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Supervise direct services positions: Direct Services Case Manager and all In-Home Caregivers or agencies contracted out to ensure all jobs are performed representing WorCOA appropriately.
· Receive referrals on what could be a daily basis that will need to be followed up on with a fast turn-around to determine if services are appropriate.
· Make/establish relationships with program members to set up proper services, create individualized care plans that are to be accomplished during weekly in-home visits that make-up the in-home caregiver position.
· Identify individuals in either Maryland Department of Aging programs or WorCOA programs in need of a higher level of case management and assign them to the Direct Services Manager for continued care.
· Secures and maintains required program records and submits all reports correctly and on time.
· Continually audits budget balances of all programs to ensure the proper timing of expenditures.
· Reviews, monitors and evaluates the ordering of medical supplies and respite services to be cost effective.
· Supports and promotes the mission of WorCOA and supports all staff members, representing WorCOA in a highly professional, congenial manner.
· Attends all meetings with the Maryland Department of Health and the Worcester County Health Department in relation to the Senior Care and National Family Caregivers Programs.
· Adheres to and enforces all WorCOA’s policies and procedures.
· Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
· College degree in Social Work with licensure or college degree and experience in equivalent field of service.
· Good physical condition and health.
· CPR and First Aid certification required within 1 year of employment, if not already certified.
· Valid driver’s license with less than 4 points (MD).
· Knowledge of budgeting principles and financial management.
· Working knowledge of computer software: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, with excellent office skills for producing required documents and financial reports in prescribed format.
· Above average oral and written communication skills necessary to communicate effectively with coworkers, county officials and program participants, follow verbal and written instructions; keep records and complete written forms.
· Ability to apply acquired knowledge to increasingly varied and complex tasks.
· Zero drama.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
