RJD, Inc. is a small but steadily growing company that has been an active part of the Moberly Community since 1992. RJD provides care and enrichment to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Our staff help individuals to learn to advocate for and foster their independence, ensuring they are living as independently as possible, while also gaining the skills to accomplish their goals, and achieve their dreams. We provide access to learning and enrichment opportunities within the Community. As a Direct Support Professional, you will help individuals live a fulfilling and independent life, while also growing a career of lifelong learning. A Direct Support Professional is someone who can be proud of the rewarding work they do to help individuals grow, learn, and live their best lives. Direct Support Professionals also learn to develop real and meaningful relationships with the individuals you will serve.

Direct Support Professional Duties:

· Provide guidance, support, and/or assistance on various daily goals such as daily living skills, budgeting, healthy choices, work and relationship skills, and Community activities.

· Providing transportation to appointments, outings (to parks, the zoo, fairs or local events, fishing, concerts, wrestling events, bowling, ice-skating, conferences, the mall, and the movies, etc. ), and shopping.

· Administering medication(s) according to guidelines.

· Be a positive role model.

· Offer emotional support and encouragement to clients, promoting their personal growth and independence.

· Exhibiting compassion and patience.

· Learning how to be an active advocate for the individual’s needs.

· Communicating effectively with team members.

· Ability to work independently and as a part of a strong, supportive team.

· Being detail-oriented and maintaining accurate records of client progress, and any incidents or changes in behavior/health.

· Be willing to learn through experience and receiving feedback.

· Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities.

Our open positions start at a base of $17/hr. However, DSPs have the ability to earn a raise after successful completion of a 3-month probationary period, as well as annual merit-based raises.

**Job Requirements for the Positions are:

1.) You must be 18+ years old with a High School Diploma or equivalent.

2.) You must have a clear Background Screening (Screening is required).

3.) You must have reliable transportation, a Driver’s License, and Car Insurance.

4.) A good attitude, strong work ethic, & the ability/desire to help the individuals we serve maintain a fun and fulfilling life.

5.) Have, or be willing to learn, strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Education:

· High School or Equivalent (Required)

License/Certification:

· CPR/1st Aid Certificate (Preferred, but will provide.)

· L1MA [Level 1 Medication Aide] Certificate (Preferred, but will provide.)

· Driver’s License (Required)

Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
