Progressive Living Inc. is a comprehensive group home and community residential provider in Mankato, MN. Progressive Living and its staff are responsible for maintaining a safe, supportive, and therapeutic living environment.

Applicants must be 18+ y/o, have a valid driver’s license with a reliable vehicle, have the ability to pass a DHS background check, and prefer to have some experience with home health care, CNA, Caregiver, Direct Support Professional (DSP), or other positions associated in the health care field. All positions require every other weekend availability.

Direct Support Staff Job Description

Direct Support Professionals work with individuals with mental or developmental disabilities by following behavior plans, teaching self-care skills, cooking meals, and doing laundry.

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting clients with daily personal tasks, including bathing and dressing (When applicable)
  • Completing housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, washing dishes, and tidying
  • Encouraging client engagement in social networks and communities
  • Provide a nurturing environment to all clients
  • Provide visual and auditory supervision
  • Providing companionship and supportive listening
  • Reading, writing, and carrying out directions
  • Providing support with hobbies, studies, and social activities
