Full job description
Position Title: Director of Admissions
Job Classification: 12-month employee
Reports to: Principal
Supervises: Positions based on specific campus, as designated by the principal
Position Summary:
The Director of Admissions manages and implements marketing, recruiting/sales, and admissions strategies for Martin Luther High School. This individual leads the admissions and recruitment team.
Philosophy:
Martin Luther High School is seeking a Director of Admissions. The Director of Admissions should ascribe to the Core Values of not only Martin Luther High School, but those of the Lutheran High School Association of Greater Milwaukee. He/She should recognize that employees of ML should use our Core Values of Biblical Truth, Relationship Building, Communication, Growth, and Love as a center of their focus. Qualifications:
● Christian or LCMS called
● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution
● Exposure to recruiting and admissions issues and opportunities in an urban setting is helpful
● Experience leading teams and managing staff while providing constructive feedback and coaching to team members
● Experience working with diverse populations, including socioeconomic diversity
● Experience in the implementation of sales/admissions strategies
● Proven ability to collaborate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
● Ability to be flexible, resilient, and adaptable to changing priorities
● Proven written and verbal communication skills
● Strong planning and organization skills
● Ability to learn new software
● Proficient in Microsoft products such as Word, Outlook, and Excel
Essential Job Functions:
Admissions:
- Oversee the admissions process, including the online platform we use, the enrollment process, placement testing, entrance requirements, interviews, transfer applicants, and all other processes used to admit students to our school
- Manage the choice application process, waitlist, and number of seats opened
- Advise and assist in the scholarship award process
Recruiting/Sales:
- Develop and manage community relationships such as with churches, feeder schools, local businesses, community support groups, and neighbors
- Develop and implement enrollment growth strategies
- Work with the LHSAGM Director of Admissions to project budget enrollment numbers and target enrollment numbers
- Create events and opportunities for families and students to experience the school, such as school or church visits, theatre matinees, fairs, open houses, shadows, school tours, etc.
Marketing:
- Ensure that our brand, mission, vision, and core values are at the forefront of our marketing and storytelling
- Inspire passion and excitement with school leaders, faculty members, and admissions teams to share the school vision with our communities
- Increase school brand recognition and integrity in the community through marketing efforts
- Develop marketing materials with the LHSAGM Marketing & Communications teams that accurately reflect the brand and story of the school
