Job Summary

The Medical Physician Preparation (MPP) Academy is seeking a Director of DEI Strategic Initiatives & Partnerships who is responsible for the following:

  • The organization will provide the professional with performance goals of the position. It will be the responsibility of the professional to develop strategies and an action plan on how to meet the performance goals.
  • Recruiting, retaining, and increasing the number of high achieving underrepresented students enrolled in the MPP Academy.
  • Attracting, retaining, and building the next generation of medical doctors, with a specific focus on building a diverse pipeline of future medical doctors, as early as 4th grade, to the physician workforce.
  • Building and strengthening partnerships with a diverse group of small to large institutions (i.e., Fortune 500 corporations, faith-based organizations, and community based organizations) to obtain support (i.e., in-kind donations of goods or services, cash donations, and other resources) for our DEI initiatives and financial aid program for students enrolled in our Medical Physician Preparation Academy (MPP Academy) and Health Professions Academy.
  • Responsible for managing all correspondence and follow up with prospective donors and partners.
  • Work in partnership with the Executive Director to develop and submit all forms and documents in response to any request for proposal from prospective donors.
  • Execution of a variety of recruitment and community outreach activities directly through DEI offices at K-12 and higher ed institutions to attract and enroll elementary, middle, and high school students in our college readiness and “pre, pre-med” academic preparation program.
  • Assist in all aspects of the student recruitment, admissions, and enrollment process.
  • Advise stakeholders on program features and benefits, admissions requirements and application process, financial assistance/scholarship information, etc.
  • Conduct follow-up meetings with stakeholders via email, telephone, or video conferencing.
  • Complete weekly routine reports related to your job performance.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to work as an effective team member and develop trusting relationships with university partners, community leaders, parents, school administrators, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work a varied, primarily self-directed schedule with flexible hours.
  • Ability to represent the organization in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented and able to work independently.
  • Possess a positive attitude that will promote a healthy work environment.
  • Public speaking experience: Ability to deliver presentations to small and large groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and achieve, if not exceed, personal and team goals.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Powerpoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities on a daily basis
  • Bilingual is a plus, but not required.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least five years of relevant professional experience, with at least two of those years working in admissions, recruitment, business development, sales, marketing, public relations, or community outreach with demonstrated success, preferably in the education industry.
  • At least five years of public speaking experience is required.

  • A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the NAPCA Foundation.
