About the Job:

The Director of Human Resources works closely with the Executive Team, ensuring that the framework and policies are in place to support the strategic and operational objectives of the company. The Director of Human Resources is expected to communicate effectively, train management on HR related topics, and inform management of potential issues, liabilities, solutions, and opportunities working to increase retention rates and the overall engagement and success of employees. Consistency, strong leadership capability, problem solving, empathy, organization, and communication are just a few of the attributes that are vital to this role.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaboration with Executive Team regarding methods to accomplish strategic objectives.
  • Advising Executive Team on matters of compliance and providing insight into liabilities.
  • Establishing accountability systems to ensure adherence to policies and regulations.
  • Identifying areas of improvement and proposing solutions.
  • Managing employee benefit packages.
  • Lead the HR team in strategic, operational, and tactical planning.
  • Create new and improve existing events to bring value to employees and the company.
  • Work with the HR team on the development, improvement, and implementation of HR policies and functions.
  • Recruiting, retention, career maps, and succession planning.
  • Talent management / Performance management
  • Compliance research and implementation.
  • Conflict resolution assistance / incident tracking & documentation.
  • Creation and/or implementation of internal training and development.
  • Work closely with the CFO on salary structure management and related topics.
  • Improve and increase positive local awareness of the company and bring awareness to management of areas of improvement or where active attention is needed.
  • Analytics by department (retention rates, budget adherence, compliance, and safety / exposure)

Role Requirements and Skills:

  • Master’s degree in HR, closely related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education preferred.
  • 4-5 years of experience in a similar strategic HR position.
  • Exceedingly high levels of discretion and accountability.
  • Superior interpersonal and people skills.
  • Proven experience leading high-level strategic development.
  • Deep understanding and experience with compliance and legal liabilities.
  • Process creation, management, and improvement.
  • Excellent communicator at all levels and in various modes.
  • Ability to understand strategic objectives and create the needed operational and tactical actions to accomplish those objectives.
  • SHRM-SP or SPHR certification a plus.
