The American Med Spa Association (AmSpa) is a trade organization focused on providing legal and business resources to medical spas and other non-invasive medical aesthetic practices. Along with these resources, AmSpa hosts educational events throughout the United States, as well as The Medical Spa Show, an annual national trade show in Las Vegas.

The AmSpa Director of Membership will be responsible for the development and execution of membership recruitment and retention strategies. This position will be responsible for providing the strategic direction and management of membership development, including recruitment, and retention to increase membership; introduction of new and valuable benefits for members; and working directly with other departments in AmSpa, including Marketing and Events, to strengthen and increase current and future AmSpa membership. The Director of Membership will utilize industry statistics, AmSpa analytics, current membership trends and desires, and a commitment to customer service to strengthen AmSpa's membership program. Moderate domestic travel is required for this position. This position reports to the COO and CEO.

Position Responsibilities

The Director of Membership:

  • Develops and directs a comprehensive program for membership recruitment and retention, implements new strategies, and recommends and manages member benefit programs and outreach.
  • Creates, implements and executes annual membership renewal and retention plans to ensure goals are met, and supervises and motivates the AmSpa membership team.
  • Collaborates with the AmSpa Marketing Department and Events Department to execute membership outreach through various different vehicles.
  • Manages, mentors and inspires the Membership Coordinator and Membership Sales Specialist, and collaborates to provide a high level of customer service as it relates to membership recruitment and retention, support, and an engaging member experience.
  • Collaborates with the COO and CEO to develop strategies to entice and retain new and current members.
  • Spearheads effective measurement and reporting to track the effectiveness of all membership activities and prepare reports for membership status, renewals, retention and expires.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Applicants for this position must have:

· A 4-year college degree;

· Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite;

· 10+ years of applicable experience, preferably in associations or societies;

· At least two years of direct supervisory experience;

· Demonstrated interest, activity and engagement in the associations/membership field at large;

· Demonstrated ability to creatively see new, effective strategies and execute on them in a time-sensitive way;

· Demonstrated ability to organize, multitask, manage time and prioritize work;

· Strong management and mentoring abilities;

· Self-starter mentality and be a resourceful team player with a great attitude;

· Demonstrated ability to learn new programs and software;

· Demonstrated ability to work in a time-efficient manner;

· A positive, ready-to-learn, flexible attitude; and

· The ability to excel in a fun, fast-paced team environment.

Salary: $70,000.00 /year
