POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Monitoring and Evaluation will be responsible for monitoring UWSN Community Impact Programs and production/compilation of evaluation results reported by programs and initiatives supported by United Way of Southern Nevada.
The Director will develop program summaries, informational materials, and strategies to communicate program results to internal and external audiences. Additionally, the Director will guide the development of strategies that help UWSN build stakeholders' capacity to effectively implement and execute outcome evaluation processes & techniques.
Responsible for the overall delivery of assigned work projects within the department/team. Determines work tactics, project deliverables and resource requirements. Participates in the development of departmental action plans, work processes and systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION
An individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below:
· Develop criteria and processes for program activity reporting and outcome evaluation for all funded programs and formal partnerships.
· Work with Senior Director of Community Impact to develop evaluation recommendations for nonprofit and other service providers and to research and communicate outcome measurement best practices.
· Identify, recommend, and monitor community-level indicators that support issues, strategies and programs connected UWSN Community Impact goals.
· Work closely with Grants Manager, Community Impact Program Managers, Community Impact Specialist, and Senior Director of Community Impact to develop and manage data collection processes connected to United Way’s grant-making and demonstrate program-level outcomes.
· Working closely with the Senior Director of Community Impact, develop and manage annual Community Impact Grant process including applications, reviews, and awards.
· With the Marketing Team, create regional and local reports that interpret and synthesize program-level data for UWSN leadership, staff and volunteers charged with making funding decisions.
· With the Volunteer Engagement Team, develop a distribution strategy for donated items, donation events, kit builds, and volunteer events with community nonprofit partners.
· Guide the identification and development of strategies to fill gaps in the UWSN Community Impact portfolio.
· Provide regular updates to the UWSN Fund Development team, UWSN External Affairs team, UWSN Marketing team, UWSN Volunteer Engagement and Events team, and UWSN Community Impact team.
· Develop understanding of United Way and institutional history and programs.
· Maintain timely and current records including program tracking and reporting.
· Track statistics relevant to program development and provide department with written materials necessary for donor stewardship.
· Other duties as assigned.

Education, Skills, Experience and Training Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in public health/public policy or social sciences field
· Previous program evaluation experience and/or a professional evaluation credential
· Demonstrated experience in designing monitoring and evaluation plans in accordance with available budgets and resources, developing and applying evaluation process tools, data collection and analysis
· Experience with qualitative and mixed methods approaches to evaluation
· Demonstrated knowledge of human service strategies and interventions
· Ability to train large, diverse groups and to provide tailored technical assistance on building evaluation capacity
· Strong writing, organization, and public speaking skills
· Ability to manage and work with multiple projects simultaneously
· Strong interpersonal skills in working with groups and individuals
· Experience working in deadline-driven environments
· Manages expectations of internal team members effectively and exhibits a strong desire and aptitude to be part of a team environment

These requirements are met by a bachelor’s degree in the social sciences or a related field, and a minimum of four years of experience in an evaluation-focused position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical Knowledge and Equipment
· Proficient computer skills including ability to type a minimum of 45 WPM, and has advance information management skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Familiar with artificial intelligence tools for the nonprofit sector, such as ChatGPT and Google Gemini. Knowledge of Program Management Software is helpful.
· Demonstrated experience in using statistical analysis to analyze and interpret data as well as experience using Tableau, SPSS, R, SAS or other statistical program software
· Experience using public databases, including Nevada Report Card, the US Census Bureau, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics
· The incumbent in this position may operate any/all of the following equipment: telephone, cell phone, fax machine, computer, printer and related equipment, copy machine, audio-visual equipment, calculator.
· Must have a vehicle, valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The incumbent may have minimal local travel (15% - 25%) via personal vehicle to community partner sites, community meetings, etc. The environment for this position when not traveling is in an office that is clean and comfortable. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
In the course of performing this work, the incumbent will spend substantial time standing, sitting, speaking, and listening. This position requires regular lifting and/or movement of up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or movement of up to 25 pounds.
