A day in the life of a Director of Public Health and Grants Manager
The KONZA Health Director of Public Health and Grants Management is responsible for providing leadership at the local, state, and national levels regarding the development and expansion of a public health digital network. The Director determines relevant tasks, dependencies, and resources for assigned projects as they relate to national, state, and local health departments, other government agencies, hospitals, providers, and other organizations that share healthcare data. The Director provides grant management and oversees public health-related grant management, assembles tasks into project plans that assign objectives, timelines, and responsible parties, and covers all aspects of project planning and execution.
Essential Functions of the Director of Public Health and Grants Manager
The Director of Public Health and Grants Management adds value in the following ways:
· Public Health Leadership
o Represent KONZA Health at state and national public health meetings
o Monitor CDC and ASTHO initiatives that may impact KONZA Health
o Lead the development of strategic plans to leverage the KONZA Health QHIN for pandemic response and other national public health initiatives
o Develop, implement, and promote any new state-based public health registries
o Oversee KONZA Health’s Public Health Registries; provide guidance to KONZA Health’s customers
o Create and maintain a report of participants sending public health data via KONZA Health
o Maintain ongoing documentation and tracking of new public health registry connections
o Work with the KONZA Health Vice President of Technology Solutions to determine the onboarding status of KONZA Health customers to public health registries
· Grant Management
o Develop and oversee grant RFI and RFP submissions in conjunction with other KONZA Health staff
o Oversee and manage grant contracts, project plans, timelines, and financial reporting
o Lead grant calls, provide updates, and documentation to internal and external teams
o Responsible for handling information requests and coordinating grants
o Update forms and documentation as needed

Director of Public Health and Grants Manager Qualifications: (Knowledge, Skill, and Ability)
· Required: Bachelor’s degree in Program Management, Health Information Management, or related field
· Demonstrated experience in state or federal public health settings, such as CDC or ASTHO
· Demonstrated knowledge of grants management is required
· Experience in a technical/customer service/health care environment required
· Three to five years’ experience in grants project management in a complex environment (preferably healthcare), required
· Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication and presentation skills
· Demonstrated proficient skills to plan, manage, problem solve, and mitigate risk in the deployment of grant applications
· Ability to multitask and handle multiple parallel projects and deliverables
· Ability to work well with others (be a team player)
· Ability to work independently with little direction
· Able to prioritize work according to deadlines and organizational initiatives to produce assigned outcomes
· Strong business analysis, problem-solving, interpersonal, customer management, and project management skills

Pay: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
