Position Summary
The Anti-Recidivism Coalition (ARC) is seeking a Director of Research and Evaluation to lead a dynamic team focused on driving data-informed strategic decisions and fostering a data-centric culture within the organization. The Director of Research and Evaluation will oversee a team comprising a Data Specialist, a Data Coordinator, and a Senior Researcher & Evaluator, ensuring the effective use of data to support ARC’s programmatic and development efforts. This role involves program evaluation, data collection and analysis, and stakeholder communication to advance ARC’s mission and demonstrate its impact.
Essential Job Functions
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team including a Data Specialist, Data Coordinator, and Senior Researcher & Evaluator, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Develop and manage team goals, workflows, and professional development plans.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and management of data collection tools (e.g., surveys, focus group protocols) and data systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with data integrity and security standards.
- Manage and analyze data using software such as STATA, R, or SPSS, and support the Senior Researcher & Evaluator in database monitoring, troubleshooting, and validation processes.
- Prepare and present performance metrics and data insights to internal and external stakeholders, including program leaders, donors, and policymakers, using clear and concise data visualization tools and dashboards.
- Establish policies and procedures for internal and external data sharing and collaborate with ARC program leaders to align programmatic work with evidence-based practices and emerging needs.
- Identify and implement digital innovations to enhance data use and storytelling and execute innovative partnerships to educate and inform stakeholders about ARC’s activities and impact.
- Support efforts to increase data literacy among ARC staff and lead initiatives to build a data-centric culture within the organization.
- Monitor and analyze ARC community needs and assets to inform strategic planning.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or executive management.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in a relevant field or extensive experience in human behavior research.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in research and evaluation, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis software, including JASP, SPSS, R, or STATA.
- Expertise in MS Office, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Strong ability to conduct literature reviews and manage databases.
- Experience leading research and evaluation projects, managing teams, and facilitating group processes and data-informed decision-making.
- Excellent written, verbal, quantitative, and computer skills.
- Knowledge of criminal justice academic, policy, and community discourse.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize work effectively, and communicate respectfully with all program staff, demonstrating cultural humility.
- Skilled in presenting to the public and engaging with community partners.
Salary/Benefits
- Pay rate is 85,000k to 95,000k doe.
