Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Director of Sales to drive sales and business development efforts across the Northeast Region of the United States (New England/Mid-Atlantic). This role focuses on promoting cleanroom solutions within the construction and design/build industry, collaborating with end users, architects & engineering (A&E) firms, and general contractors. The ideal candidate will have experience in cleanroom technologies, modular construction, or similar high-spec environments (pharmaceutical, biotech, semiconductor, aerospace, etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities for cleanroom projects within the territory.
- Develop and manage relationships with end users, A&E firms, general contractors, and construction managers.
- Lead the sales process from initial prospecting through closing, including pricing, proposals, presentations, and contract negotiation.
- Build a strong pipeline of cleanroom projects across key market sectors.
Technical Expertise & Consultation
- Consult with clients to understand technical and operational requirements for cleanroom design and performance.
- Translate user specifications into compliant, cost-effective cleanroom solutions.
- Guide clients through selection of cleanroom classifications, materials, HVAC integration, and regulatory considerations (ISO, cGMP, etc.).
Project Coordination & Collaboration
- Collaborate with internal/external design, engineering, and project management teams to ensure accurate project scope, cost estimates, and timely delivery.
- Coordinate with construction teams and partners to support execution of cleanroom projects on site.
- Assist in the development and review of architectural drawings, construction documents, and specifications.
Territory Management
- Manage and grow the company’s presence throughout the Northeast (US).
- Attend regional trade shows, industry events, and client meetings as needed.
- Maintain CRM database with up-to-date activity, contact details, and sales forecasts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical sales, preferably in cleanroom systems, modular construction, or controlled environments.
- Understanding of cleanroom standards (ISO 14644, USP, FDA, GMP, etc.) preferred.
- Proven ability to work with A&E firms, facility owners, and general contractors during the design and pre-construction phases.
- Strong knowledge of building systems (MEP, HVAC, envelope, etc.) and construction sequencing.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel throughout the Northeast (approximately 20-30%).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with modular cleanroom manufacturers or related systems integrators.
- Existing network in pharma, biotech, medtech, semiconductor, or aerospace sectors.
- Proficiency in reading architectural drawings and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot) and project management software.
