Full job description

The Director of Student Recruitment and Enrollment is responsible for designing and implementing a strategic plan that aligns with the school's mission to achieve the school's enrollment goals. While reporting to the CEO, this person will work closely with the Head of School and side-by-side with the Admissions Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement, and manage the new family/student recruitment plan.
  • Develop, implement, and manage the family/student retention plan.
  • Provide oversight and leadership to the school’s website by coordinating the content, news, and videos. In addition, utilize web-based marketing strategies to increase the school’s online presence, including the effective use of social media.
  • Aggressively strive to reach and/or exceed all of the recruitment goals for inquiries, campus visits, applications, acceptances, and new student enrollment.
  • Engage with families after students are accepted to ensure students are enrolled and will be in attendance, including drafting all messaging to prospective and incoming families, reflecting the unique nature of Opportunity Charter School.
  • Provide a customer-centered, school visit program and follow-up for all inquiries and applicants.
  • Increase awareness of the school through feeder schools, community organizations, and other groups.
  • Cultivate strong relationships within the neighborhoods we serve.
  • Encourage and facilitate the involvement of parents in the recruitment strategy.
  • Create and work with a team of parent volunteers in the parent ambassador program.
  • Motivate and facilitate the involvement of all faculty and staff in the recruitment process.
  • Continually maintain in-depth knowledge of all current academic and social aspects of student life, including curriculum, extracurricular activities, athletic programs, and all other programs, activities, and services offered in order to fully market all aspects of the school.
  • Report weekly on the progress toward recruitment goals to administration.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5 years of experience in charter school or independent school admission/enrollment management required
  • Results driven with a proven track record of achieving enrollment goals
  • Familiarity with IEPs and the unique needs of both students with disabilities and their families
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in social media platforms including content creation and management
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends for admissions events and activities
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, and communication skills; ability to connect with diverse audiences and effectively represent the school
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with an eagerness to launch new initiatives
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000, and is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
