FLEXSPACE based in Charleston, SC, has set out to revolutionize cold storage and industrial spaces by discovering new solutions to challenges that need answers. The FLEXSPACE portfolio consists of the design, installation, and on-going support of semi-automated storage solutions in a variety of industries across the country. FlexCold is a new entrant to the cold storage warehouse/logistics industry. Its first location is under construction in Jacksonville, Florida opening in summer 2022. In addition to 3rd party logistics and warehouse operations, FLEXSPACE is building a vertical enterprise with manufacturing and real estate investment and development.

Job Summary:

Due to FLEXSPACEs rapid growth and diversification, we are seeking to hire an experienced full-time Director of Talent Management. The primary responsibility of the Director of Talent Management is to take ownership of all Human Resource matters across the company from onboarding, creating new HR functions and procedures, to managing their PEO relationship with ADP. The Director of Talent Management will have the opportunity to define and drive the strategic direction of hiring teams as the company grows to meet new demands.

The ideal candidate will be a strong problem solver with a servant leader mentality, exceptional communication skills, strong customer service skills, and have an advanced skill set understanding business concepts beyond Human Resources. The candidate would represent FLEXSPACE in believing in hiring and investing in the skills of remarkable people for multiple business lines including design, installation, and on-going support of semi-automated storage solutions, 3rd party logistics and warehouse operations, real estate investment and development and manufacturing.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive Talent Acquisition for the businesses, ensuring top talent is attracted and coming into the business
  • Build a strong learning and development framework to ensure employees are continuously developing and growing
  • Drive a strong compensation benefits framework across the business to ensure market-alignment
  • Build employee engagement, performance management, and performance appraisal frameworks
  • Travel to locations for recruitment, training, and ongoing HR activities
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws

Required Skills:

  • 5-10 years Human Resource experience
  • Prior experience building HR framework from the ground floor
  • Prior experience and familiarity in hiring for both entry level and professional positions
  • Strategic partner to the leadership team but also hands on executor
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • A minimum of five years of human resource management experience preferred.
  • SHRM highly desired.
