Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Dispatching Assistant and Quality Assurance Specialist. This role involves coordinating truck routes, ensuring the accuracy of materials for each shipment, and providing quality control checks before trucks leave the yard. A solid understanding of building materials, especially the lumber industry, is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispatching: Plan and route daily truck schedules to ensure efficient delivery operations.
  • Quality Control: Inspect outgoing trucks to verify that all materials match the order specifications and that the paperwork is correct.
  • Order Verification: Confirm that all orders have the correct building materials, ensuring that quantity, type, and quality are accurate.
  • Documentation: Check and organize shipping paperwork (invoices, packing lists) to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Coordination: Communicate with drivers, warehouse staff, and customers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Problem-Solving: Address any discrepancies or issues with orders, materials, or routing.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all safety standards are met for both the materials and the transportation process.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in dispatching, logistics, or transportation coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of building materials and their handling.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to perform quality control checks.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with logistics software and routing tools is a plus.
  • Bilingual is a plus.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
