The Opportunity

The position of Double Spindle Lathe and/or Swiss Lathe Programmer/Machinist is responsible for programming and operating in our turning department to maximize our production capabilities. This position would be operating new machines, such as a Nomura NN32YB3XB CNC Swiss Turning Center, and would be serving both our companies - Vantage Point Archery and Absolute Machining - making a variety of parts. We are built on providing excellent service and providing premier pre-production consultation, design services, prototyping, material purchasing and manufacturing. We are looking for an ambitious machinist willing to put in hard work to build out our capabilities.

This is a Full-Time Position with a requirement to commute or relocate to Fort Wayne, IN. We are looking for First Shift, 8 hour shifts 5 days a week. Pay for this position is hourly at $25.00 - $30.00 per hour, with a signing bonus of $500. Compensation is commensurate with Experience and/or Formal Education/Training.

Required Knowledge/Skills

· 5+ years’ experience in milling and lathe running, setup, and adjusting preferred.

· 5+ years’ experience in G-code programming preferred.

· Ability to optimize CNC programs and processes

· Knowledge in CNC Swiss Machines

· OKUMA, HAAS, and Mitsubishi interface experience.

· Mastercam and Partmaker experience.

· Ability to effectively run small batch production runs.

· Strong mechanical skills.

· Strong ability in using micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.

· Excellent understanding of tooling and equipment.

· Experienced in print reading and analysis.

· Strong understanding of tolerances, GD&T.

· Ability to operate CMM

· Strong hand toolpath programming ability (angles/radii)

· Excellent understanding of materials.

· Experience machining Aluminum, Stainless, and Carbon Steels.

· Ability to perform deburring and minor polishing on components.

Physical Requirements

· Lift 40 lbs. occasionally

· Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time

· Ability to move from one machine to another to sustain production requirements
