Position Summary

This position will drive the Puente 12-passenger van or 5-passenger truck from the Puente offices (Pescadero or La Honda) to pick up participants at their home and then drive to the location of the medical/dental appointment. There will be occasions where the driver will assist other teams with field trips, driving teams or participants to meetings or driving to get necessary vehicle maintenance.

Responsibility

· Safely and efficiently pick up/drop participants from one location to another.

· Maintain accurate and organized logs of the rides.

· Maintain the vehicle clean to and from locations.

· Basic vehicle maintenance such as car washing and vacuuming.

· Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness.

· Check vehicle regularly to ensure fuel, tire pressure and all car fluids are at appropriate levels and assist in scheduling maintenance for the vehicles, as needed.

· Refuel after each trip, as appropriate.

· Keep receipts of any driving-related expenses, like fuels and tolls.

· Return vehicles keys right after each trip.

· Exercise due diligence to drive safely.

· Responsible to report any accident, theft, or damage to supervisor.

· Be an effective communicator with participants, and staff.

· Be able to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

· 60% of the time is spent driving, 30% of the time is spent entering data, credit check requests or participant communication, 10% of the time is spent on vehicle maintenance.

Qualifications/Skills Required

· Clean driving record.

· Comfortable driving a large vehicle as this position might require driving on small or large busy roads.

· Good verbal and written communication skills.

· Have 1 year experience as a driver preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.25 - $30.00 per hour
