Job Overview
The East Coast Project Manager oversees the digitization workflow of current and prospective offsite projects as well as projects in the Chantilly Office. This role is client-facing and requires the ability to manage an imaging production team, which includes: communicating with clients and account managers, monitoring project progress, setting deadlines, evaluating project performance, defining project goals, and seeing projects through to completion.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for generating daily and weekly production reports to client
- Responsible for final stages of quality control and processing
- Serves at primary tech lead in hardware and software troubleshooting for PhaseOne/DT Hardware
- Forecasts and schedules Incoming and Current projects and quotas
- Oversees, Documents, and Manages projects through entire Digitization Workflow
- Communicates with Client, Account Managers, and R&D as needed
- Master advanced Capture One concepts, scripting, tethered capture technologies
- Hardware troubleshooting for Phase One/DT Hardware
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- BFA in photography, imaging, or related field, and/or or equivalent related work experience
- 3 years experience managing heritage digitization projects
- Experience with digital preservation and curation practices and principles
- Experience managing digital projects in an academic library, museum or commercial imaging environment
- Experience with using spreadsheets
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and team management skills
- Quality control experience, assessment through remediation
- Knowledge of non-destructive editing, current imaging and heritage technologies, standards, and best practices (FADGI standards)
- Valid US Driver's License
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Local to Washington, DC Metro Area: Reliably commute to Chantilly or planning to relocate before starting work
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Digital Transitions products
- Experience with using Capture One, Adobe Creative Suite, BasICColor, Golden Thread
- Expert knowledge of ColorSync and digital color management, creating custom profiles, reading calibration targets, and RAW imaging processing
- Experience with using digital asset management systems and workspaces
Salary: Commensurate with experience. Includes full benefit package including medical, dental, and 401K
