Company Overview:

OnePlanet Solar Recycling is a leading provider of sustainable solutions in the renewable energy sector, specializing in the recycling of solar panels. As part of our commitment to environmental stewardship, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join our team at our state-of-the-art Solar Panel Recycling Facility.

Position Overview:

As an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning of electrical systems and instrumentation equipment within our Solar Panel Recycling Facility. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, as well as troubleshooting and calibrating instrumentation devices to support the recycling process. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to environmental sustainability by supporting the operation of renewable energy technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, including power distribution systems, motor controls, and lighting fixtures.

2. Perform preventive maintenance tasks on electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

3. Calibrate and maintain instrumentation devices such as sensors, meters, and control valves to support recycling process operations.

4. Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation issues using diagnostic tools and techniques to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

5. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to design and implement improvements to electrical and instrumentation systems.

6. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working with electrical systems and instrumentation equipment.

7. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and calibration procedures.

8. Assist with the training and mentoring of junior technicians as needed.

Qualifications:

1. Associate degree or technical certification in electrical engineering, instrumentation technology, or a related field.

2. Basic industrial automation (L1 level – machine control; e.g. on/off switches, speed control and basic monitoring) experience, involving the integration of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), sensors, actuators, and other devices to enable basic automation functions.

3. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working as an electrical technician or instrumentation technician in an industrial setting, preferably in the renewable energy or recycling industry.

4. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation principles, and control systems.

5. Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals for equipment such as medium voltage switchgear, transformers, motors, motor control centers, control panels and field devices.

6. Experience with troubleshooting and repairing electrical and instrumentation equipment using diagnostic tools and techniques as well as operation and monitoring HMIs in local and global topology networks (Ethernet).

7. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

8. Strong attention to detail and commitment to ensuring the safety and reliability of electrical and instrumentation systems.

9. Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, as needed.
