Entry Level Drafter

Texas Area Telecom is a leader in quality Telecom Infrastructure Design headquartered in Austin, Texas and doing projects all over the country. We are expanding our drafting team and looking for team members that are eager to learn the telecom industry and grow their career with our company.

We are seeking team members living in or near Austin. This job requires working from our office 40 hours per week.

This is an entry level position. You will be learning to draft telecom networks using AutoCAD and proprietary software. You will be assisting with the Brightspeed/Engineering Associated work, breaking up maps, laying out pathways for the map (prefielding), then performing pole annotations after the fielding is complete. Depending on your experience, we will work with the right candidate who wants to learn more within the industry of telecom. Minimum 3 months of AutoCAD or other drafting experience or training. Knowledge of fiber to the home is also a huge plus. This position requires being computer savvy.

Skills/Abilities needed for this role:

-Minimum 3 months drafting experience or training

-Computer Savvy, experience working heavily within software

-Detail Oriented/ ability to work with numbers and notating numbers

-Organized with problem solving ability

-Reliable transportation to and from work

*Starting at $18 hr. commiserate on experience
