Position Overview
The role focuses on maintaining, diagnosing, and servicing Building automation systems (BAS) — primarily Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems — to ensure HVAC and control systems are operating effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Service & Maintenance: Preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and emergency repairs of automation systems.
- Customer Interaction: Handling service calls, explaining issues, and proposing solutions.
- Technical Tasks:
- Troubleshooting DDC systems.
- Performing system checkouts and supporting start-ups.
- Working with protocols like BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP, and Niagara (AX/4).
- Documentation: Completing service orders, reports, and job summaries.
- Sales Insight: Identifying and quoting additional service opportunities.
Required Skills & Knowledge
Education/Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience in BAS controls OR an Associate’s degree in HVAC/Electrical Tech or Building Automations.
Technical Knowledge:
- Basics of control systems and logic (loops, sensors, actuators, ladder logic/flowcharts).
- Familiarity with Niagara (AX/N4 preferred).
- Understanding of network protocols: BACnet IP, Modbus, LonTalk, TCP/I
Soft Skills:
- Clear communication, customer service, and teamwork.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Adaptability and willingness to be on-call after 90 days.
Physical Demands
- Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Standing/walking up to 75% of the shift.
- Work may be conducted indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
