Environmental Health & Safety Specialist
Reports To:
The Environmental Health & Safety Specialist will report to the Environmental Health and Safety Manager. (EHS)
Job Description:
Precision Environmental Company is seeking educated individuals interested in Environmental Health & Safety Career. This role would include performing jobsite compliance audits, delivering hazard trainings, assisting in developing site-specific safety plans/work plans, and conducting job hazard analyses. This role will be within Precision Environmental’s Safety Team with potential for future promotion. Time will be spent 50% field and 50% office.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Conduct compliance inspections on jobsites
- Assist safety team in developing site-specific safety plans and/or work plans
- Assist in industrial hygiene monitoring
- Develop job hazard analyses and assist with communicating to crews
- Report corrective actions for instances of non-compliance
- Research different regulatory topics relevant to future and ongoing work
- Deliver relevant hazard awareness trainings to crews
Mandatory Qualifications:
- High School Diploma & 2-year associate’s degree from an accredited educational institution in relevant topics: Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Construction Management, Safety & Health Studies, Environmental Science, etc.
- Open to travel and overtime work hours.
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record. Company vehicles shall be made available for work related travel. Per diem provided for out of town travel.
- Criminal and Motor Vehicle background checks conducted for all applicants.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical and may need to wear appropriate respiratory protection.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, & Excel and Adobe Acrobat PDF programs.
- Employee must be self-motivated. Must have ability to handle multiple different job responsibilities and open to taking on new responsibilities based on the company’s needs.
- Employee must possess the ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution in relevant topics: Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Construction Management, Safety & Health Studies, Environmental Science, etc.
- Experience using industrial hygiene (IH) monitoring and sampling equipment. Interest in learning different IH equipment uses and functions.
- Willingness to learn about the environmental/demolition industry and conduct environmental audits of jobsites with the following potential hazards: asbestos, lead, mold, silica, nuisance dust, etc.
- Willingness to pursue Continued Educational Credits (CEU) and/or professional certifications.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
