Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase by providing accurate cost estimates for various construction projects. This position requires strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of construction processes, allowing you to effectively assess project requirements and negotiate contracts.
Duties
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and overhead costs.
- Analyze blueprints and project specifications to determine necessary resources and timelines.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure estimates align with project goals and budgets.
- Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam for accurate estimating and documentation.
- Conduct site visits to gather information on project conditions and requirements.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor ongoing projects for cost control, ensuring adherence to budget constraints throughout the construction process.
- Provide support in project management tasks as needed, ensuring timely completion of projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cost control measures and budgeting processes within the construction industry.
- Familiarity with construction site operations and safety protocols.
- Experience in estimating software is preferred.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in estimates.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
