JOB TITLE: Evaluation Specialist
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Grants, Contracts and Evaluation
Brighton Park Neighborhood Council (BPNC) is an intergenerational community-based organization dedicated to equity and racial justice. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for the working-class and immigrant populations of Chicago’s southwest side through grassroots organizing and providing free and accessible social services and quality programming for youth and adults.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Grants, Contracts and Evaluation, the Evaluation Specialist will support BPNC’s work in two key areas:
1) data collection, analysis, and program evaluation; and
2) documenting program impact through narrative reports.
The Evaluation Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the administration of the case management software where BPNC securely stores client data. They will additionally be responsible for implementing a plan to analyze program data, in order to facilitate timely and accurate reporting for government grants in the areas of education and youth services, health and violence prevention, financial stability, and immigration advocacy. Lastly, the Evaluation Specialist will work collaboratively with the Director of Grants, Contracts and Evaluation to develop and implement evaluation activities to assess program outcomes across the aforementioned service activities and will disseminate findings on program outcomes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop documents necessary to facilitate process evaluation activities, including logic models and written program processes and protocols.
2. Oversee the administration of BPNC’s case management software system, Apricot 360, to support staff with timely and accurate data entry and build customized reports to facilitate data reporting for government grant reports.
3. Analyze and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data on program outputs and outcomes in the areas of education and youth services, health and violence prevention, financial stability, and immigration advocacy.
4. Use quantitative and qualitative program data to prepare and submit quarterly progress and final grant reports to government funders.
5. Coordinate program evaluation activities, including surveying and focus groups, to assess program impact across the range of services that BPNC offers.
6. Create narrative reports documenting program impact.
7. Participate in regular staff meetings, staff trainings, supervisory sessions and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
8. Perform other related duties as needed.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
· Master’s degree in a human services or data-related field (preferred)
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· High level of organization and attention to detail
· Strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently
· Experience with program evaluation and data collection and analysis systems and tools
· Strong understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methodology
· Experience managing government grants
· Highly collaborative with a demonstrated ability to work with diverse personalities, and a wide variety of professional backgrounds and experiences
· Ability to think strategically, remaining focused on goals and objectives
· Highly proficient and knowledgeable in the use of current computer software and tools
· Ability to pass federal background check prior to starting the position
· Bilingual Spanish/English (preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
