Job Description:

As a Vital Link Career Exploration Crew Member, you will play a key role in supporting our mission to inspire and engage students in career exploration. This dynamic position is perfect for individuals who thrive in hands-on, event-based work and have a passion for education and helping young people discover their potential.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist department managers and coordinators with planning, setup, and execution of events, including career fairs, college days, and other on-ground activities.
  • Set up and take down exhibits, ensuring all equipment is cleaned, adjusted, and properly maintained.
  • Lead small groups of middle school students, facilitating activities and discussions during exhibit days.
  • Guide and manage groups of students during pathway days, exhibit days, or college and career days, ensuring a safe and engaging experience.
  • Provide support to managers and coordinators during special events, including logistical support and participant coordination.
  • Track and compile evaluation results from exhibit days and College & Career fairs to help improve future events.

Schedule:

  • Flexible hours: Work will be scheduled on an as-needed basis depending on events.
  • You will be notified a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the event date.
  • A minimum of 7 business days' notice is required for cancellation of a shift.
  • 48 hours' notice will be given for any last-minute schedule changes.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable mode of transportation.
  • Experience working with students (minimum 1 year required).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and guide groups effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
