EVENT MANAGER - BOLD MEDIA - Part-Time/Seasonal (Hollowed Harvest: Wicked Labyrinth)

BOLD Media's "Hollowed Harvest: Wicked Labyrinth" is seeking an on-site event co-manager to supervise the Hollowed Harvest: Wicked Labyrinth in Salem, Mass. The Hollowed Harvest brings to life hundreds of incredible Jack-O’-Lanterns in an indoor-walk-through exhibit, located near the heart of the Witch city! As an event manager you will play the critical role of ensuring our event is polished and ready to open each evening, our guests are cared for, and together with your support staff - the brand quality of Hollowed Harvest is conveyed to our patrons.

Last year the Hollowed Harvest: Wicked Labyrinth brought several thousand excited Halloween fans of all ages; this year we anticipate the event will grow to new heights as we introduce new features to Salem’s Only Jack-O’-Lantern festival!

Must Have Skills:

• Proven working experience as an event manager, stage manager, or other entertainment and/or hospitality related manager; minimum of 3 years experience
• Ability to lift 40lbs comfortably, and carry boxes with displays up/down flights of stairs at the venue. Ability to work on hands / knees as required for setting up/powering event displays.
• People / customer service oriented, ability to manage under pressure
• Managers must arrive one hour before opening each night and remain on-site until closing. Please note that the calendar on our homepage does not include the setup and breakdown dates, which are scheduled from 9 AM to 5 PM, as needed, from September 14th to September 19th and again from November 1st to November 5th.
• Basic hand tool knowledge, as well as willingness to learn how to use some show-specific tools
• Must be able to reliably commute to Salem where the event is located
• Fluent in the English language
• Ability to follow directions, and maintain an eye for detail to ensure event quality
• Comfortable using personal mobile phone devices for scanning tickets, email / calling / texting with your remote management
• Ability to provide a minimum of 2 references, at least one of which must be from a previous employer.
• Permitted to work in the United States

Position Responsibilities:

• Arriving at the show venue 60 minutes prior to opening each evening the show is open to turn on all Jack-O'-Lantern displays, supervise staff, mitigate customer issues / complaints, and maintain general event order while following the policies and practices set forth by BOLD Media corporate.
• Leaving the venue clean each evening, turning off displays following event closing, securing the facility.
• The manager will be responsible for interfacing with BOLD Media's event support team to provide ongoing feedback and notifications of any issues arising in the course of the operation of the event.
• Available to co-lead setup and breakdown of the event and its fixtures
• Willingness to take part in an online e-learning course & subsequent virtual training session to learn and review show policies and best practices prior to arriving on-site for show setup
• The Event Managers will be responsible for training their on-site ticketing staff/support staff the Wednesday prior to show opening.

Ideal Candidates:

The ideal candidate would have event management or management experience supervising all staff. The individual should be reliable, dependable and trustworthy. As well as being capable of multitasking and working well under pressure.
