About Mid-County Center:
Mid-County Center helps people age well. We aspire to be the primary resource for aging well in the heart of New Castle County, providing a warm and vibrant environment for individuals 50+, their friends and families, and where members are inspired to help each other and contribute to the community. As a 501(c)(3) organization, we are looking to grow and market our Center to allow more seniors in the New Castle County area to age well.
Position Summary
Hours: 8am-3:30pm
The Outreach and Event Planner manages and executes community outreach opportunities and events to raise awareness, engage members, and drive fundraising for Mid-County Center. This position works on both the marketing side, developing media campaigns and ideas, as well as the coordinating side, by planning and implementing activities for the Center. We are looking for a motivated, organized, and goal-driven applicant with excellent communication skills to fill this role. To be successful in this role, you should have previous work or internship experience in marketing, event coordination, or have been in a related customer-facing position.
Position Responsibilities
Outreach:
1. Develop successful and trusting relationships with program recipients and community liaisons, creating and sustaining an environment that supports these relationships.
2. Identify and create positive relationships with potential sponsors in the community.
3. Advertise Mid-County Center to potential members and community partners by managing the Center’s online presence through weekly Facebook posts and monthly blog posts on the website.
4. Increase membership, participation and MCC brand awareness through effective marketing plans and campaigns using current social/active attendance counts.
Events:
1. Lead in the development and execution of fundraising plans and activities, including marketing.
2. Manage event logistics, including acting as a point person between vendors and the Center, tracking attendance, leading promotional efforts, and overseeing the event.
3. Plan and lead promotional events to positively represent Mid-County Center.
4. Work closely with staff to ensure appropriate room availability for events and speaking opportunities.
Competencies & Qualifications
- 1-3 Years Marketing Experience or Equivalent in Similar Industry.
- Creative, energetic, self-starter, and outgoing—can confidently go out in the community to spread the word about Mid-County!
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.
- Strong written and oral communication skills – Objective, Accurate, Constructive, Concise & Audience Appropriate.
- Displays and projects credibility and confidence to the community.
- Undergraduate and/or Graduate Degrees will be considered favorably.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
