WCEC SECURITY STAFF POSITION SUMMARY:

The Wind Creek Event Center, an established independent live entertainment venue with an extremely positive industry reputation, has excellent and immediate openings for Security Staff team members at the venue. This entertainment venue, which seats up to 3,500 people, has had acts such as Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, The Killers, Bill Burr, Sebastian Maniscalco & many more.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position is responsible for the overall safety/security of the Wind Creek Event Center during all concerts, trade shows and events. This includes but is not limited to, securing all areas of the venue and ensuring the safety of all artists/crews, staff, patrons, vendors, and any merchandise/property on premises.

Military and or private security experience and background preferred. Experience with ID checking is a plus as well. All security staff report directly to the director of security, and security supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

First and foremost you must be able to operate with the utmost professionalism, and be able to work within a tight team dynamic, while also possessing the ability to handle situations independently, and professionally.

Need to possess the ability to operate and use walk thru metal detectors, metal detection wands, and knowledge of proper pat down procedures. Also need the ability to operate hand held radios properly, and communicate effectively with all involved.

Be able to man static or roaming positions for extended periods of time during shifts, so as to ensure the safety of all artists/crews, patrons, staff, vendors etc. while they are on premises. FYI show days are normally long and quite active, so you must possess the ability to multi task, and be on your feet for extended periods of time.

One must be able to handle issues or disturbances of any kind that may arise during the events, or at the facility. If necessary, and in conjunction with local law enforcement or EMS, be able to escort disruptive individuals off premises Notify director, supervisors, and any pertinent venue manager of all issues/incidents. Must be able to provide statements to local law enforcement if necessary and also write clear/detailed reports of any incident in the venue’s security log book

Tour facility, examining doors, windows, and gates to ensure that they are secure, and assist with crowd control inside and outside the Event Center Assist in the control of unusual circumstances and events during fire, storms, riots, and any other emergencies Respond immediately to emergency situations and investigate disturbances Assist all venue departments with any security or patron needs Insure that every artist/crew, client, patron, and vendor receives the absolute best service possible Performs other tasks as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a High School diploma or G.E.D.; some college preferred
  • Military, law enforcement, venue/live entertainment, and/or private security experience preferred
  • Must possess the ability to demonstrate knowledge of security issues related to major live entertainment venues
  • Must possess the ability to handle conflicts, make common sense decisions, and exercise proper action during high tension and stressful situations; must remain calm and de-escalate situations. Must always operate professionally
  • Must possess the ability to meet the physical demands of this job, which may include being able to get in and around the facility (requires personal mobility inside and outside of the building and walking and standing for long periods of time), lifting ( up to 50 pounds), carrying, moving, climbing, and adjusting to moderate to loud noises
  • Must possess the ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form, in English, including use of a portable radio, multi-lingual ability is a plus as well
  • Must possess the ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Must possess the ability to work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedules and produce accurate results
  • Must possess the ability to work within a team dynamic and also independently, exercising judgment and initiative
  • Must possess the ability to maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment
  • Must possess the ability to remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur
  • Must possess the ability to work hours as dictated by events
  • Must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, work as a team, and have reliable transportation
  • This position may be exposed to adverse conditions such as loud noises, pyrotechnics, etc.

  • Must be RAMP certified or able to achieve successful completion within 30 days of hire.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
