Full job description
The Executive Director will oversee day-to-day operations, develop community relationships, and drive fundraising efforts while working closely with the Board of Directors to manage the artistic vision, strategic direction, and financial sustainability of the Theatre. This dynamic and entrepreneurial individual will foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for community members, volunteers, artists, and crew while ensuring that the Theatre remains a vital cultural hub in the Grand Forks community.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations
- Create a welcoming environment for guests.
- Coordinate with and create a welcoming environment for volunteers and production staff.
- Oversee front-of-house operations including ticketing, concessions, scheduling, and training of volunteers.
- Ensure the security, safety, and cleaning of the theatre, supplies, equipment, materials, and furnishings.
- Manage the maintenance and preservation of the facility.
- Manage facility usage and scheduling for shows and rentals
- Community Engagement
- Develop and maintain relationships with community members, sponsors, and donors.
- Develop strategic relationships with local partners
- Oversee marketing and advertising for all programs.
- Maintain a strong social media and web presence
- Financial Sustainability
- Work with the Board of Directors to develop budgets in accordance with accepted budgetary guidelines.
- Maintain and grow revenues through facility rentals, sponsorships, donation drives, ticket sales, and programs.
- Work with the Board of Directors to write grant proposals.
- Protect the ongoing financial success of the Theatre.
- Programming
- Develop dynamic and high-quality programs that appeal to all age groups.
- Manage the acquisition of production rights.
- Oversee the production of advertising, posters, and programs for productions.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a strong written and verbal communicator who is self-starting and capable of working independently.
- Have experience coordinating volunteers and/or building and managing teams.
- Have strong leadership and customer service skills.
- Have the ability to react to unforeseen challenges with flexibility and ingenuity.
- Have experience cultivating and maintaining donors.
- Have experience working in the performing arts.
- Be available on weekends and evenings for performances and special events.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $28,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
