Executive Director

$85,000 Salary Exempt

Part-Time Management Assignment (Remote)

Job Description: The Executive Director (ED) will execute roles and responsibilities per the contract as defined by this scope of work and recognize the Board of Directors has ultimate authority over the management of Association Affairs. The Executive Director provides leadership, guidance, and support to staff, volunteers, and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the organization's values and goals. Essential Functions: The Executive Director’s (ED) primary focus is directed at supporting Association Management and Growth, Financial Management, Professional Development, Board Function, and Marketing. In keeping these activities in focus, the ED is required to:

● Plan, organize, and coordinate a wide range of activities in support of the CCCAOE mission, goals, and objectives.

● Manage complex tasks effectively in a high-stress environment during peak seasons, including the ability to set priorities, achieve objectives, and meet deadlines.

● Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with Association staff and contractors/consultants as well as the BOD.

● Work with little direction including having the ability to make decisions and act independently within a guided framework with varying levels of direction, planning, and ambiguity.

● Understand the dynamics of organizational management and the ability to manage.

● Utilize office computer technologies including word processing, spreadsheets, data entry, Google tools, office productivity software, and database management.

● Communicate effectively both in written and oral communications.

● Manage complex tasks effectively in a high-stress environment during peak seasons, including the ability to set priorities, achieve objectives, and meet deadlines.

ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Association Management and Growth:

● Oversee day-to-day operations in program development, financial management and accounting, marketing, and human resources.

● Provide leadership in developing organizational, membership, resource development, program, and financial plans with the Board.

● Implement and support plans, policies, and procedures authorized by the Board.

● Negotiate and enter into agreements, on behalf of the Association, for the purchase of goods and services reasonably necessary to and in the ordinary course of business, and per approved budget and expenditures.

● Research and prepare reports related to Board protocol.

● Development and communication of annual public reports.

● Manage association databases, all related materials, and association archives

● Support the Board function and Association coordination of elections of officers.

● Responsible for Board meetings, retreat preparation; and board of director onboarding, development, and support.

Support legislative and external entities liaison management.

Financial Management:

● In collaboration with the treasurer and deputy treasurer, monitor fiscal operations including, monthly financial reporting to the BOD, annual audit, annual tax preparation, and presentation of the annual budget to the Board of Directors.

● Manage the organization to operate within budget guidelines and ensure fiscal controls.

Acquisition and management of all inventories and assets.

Committees:

Work with the staff and committee Co-Chairs, as appropriate, to ensure and carry out the goals and work plans of standing and/or ad-hoc committees and workgroups.

Marketing:

● Review graphics and content according to the Marketing Plan.

● Review and approve social media and email newsletters for the Association.
