Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Executive Director to join our team of talented and driven individuals. This position will support a promotional product association, working in partnership with the board of directors and other staff members to accomplish strategic objectives and manage programs, events, and operations. The ideal candidate must thrive in a challenging and fast-paced atmosphere where prioritizing and multi-tasking are the norm.

Remote, hybrid, and in-office work styles are accommodated.

Essential Functions

· In concert with the Board of Directors, identify strategic goals and objectives and implement and measure the effectiveness of tactics to achieve them.

· Serves as liaison to the Board of Directors, keeping them fully informed on the condition of the Association and all issues influencing the leadership and its members. Facilitates, participates, and reports at all meetings of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors meetings.

· Executes all decisions of the President, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors except when other assignment of execution is specifically made.

· Executes all contracts and commitments authorized by the association.

· Develops and manages budgets and approves all expenditures to ensure overall financial health.

· Oversees the association’s daily operations and the staff members supporting the association.

· Manages the association’s committees/task forces (delegating to other staff, as appropriate).

· Designs and executes educational initiatives and events (with the support of subject matter experts).

· Drives membership recruitment/retention and volunteer/member engagement strategies.

· Represents the organization and participates in national meetings of the parent organization, as applicable.

· Maintains effective relationships with the executives of associations, businesses, and industries related to the profession.

· Work with an Event Planner to plan and execute multiple events for the organization.

Qualifications

· A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field

· Five or more years of experience in association management

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and balance competing projects on tight deadlines

· Strong staff management and volunteer leadership skills

· Excellent project management, delegation, and decision-making skills

· Ability to work unpredictable hours, including some evenings and weekends

· Ability to think strategically

· Polished verbal communication skills, including interpersonal, presentation, writing, and public speaking skills

· Ability to communicate complex professional and advocacy issues

· Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Suite, Teams, Asana, Zoom, databases) and ability to learn new software easily

· Ability to travel (including overnight stays) up to 15% of the time.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary is based on experience and talent. Unlimited vacation time, paid holiday leave, health insurance, and a 401k plan.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
