Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a strong background in pet grooming and care. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services to pets, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the process. This role requires excellent animal handling skills and the ability to work with various breeds and temperaments.

Responsibilities

• Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for dogs mostly, occasionally a cat (cats are not required)
• Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin to recommend appropriate grooming treatments.
• Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, adhering to hygiene standards.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ grooming needs and any health concerns observed during grooming sessions.
• Handle pets safely and compassionately, ensuring their comfort throughout the grooming process.
• Stay updated on grooming trends, techniques, and products to provide the best service possible.
• Assist in managing appointments and scheduling for grooming services as needed.

Skills

• Proficient in pet grooming techniques with experience in handling various breeds.
• Strong animal handling skills with a focus on safety and comfort for pets.
• Knowledge of animal care practices, including basic health assessments.
• Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.

What You'll Bring:

• Proven dog grooming experience and skill with various breeds and coat types
• Your own professional grooming equipment (clippers, scissors, etc.)
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance and care
• Excellent communication skills with clients and genuine love for animals
• Reliable transportation
• Cat grooming experience is a bonus but not required
• Comfort working in a veterinary setting

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
