We are seeking a Expo/ Food Runner to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Expo/ Food Runner, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our guests receive their meals in a timely and efficient manner. As an Expo/Food Runner, your primary responsibility is to ensure a smooth and efficient flow between the kitchen and the dining area, delivering high-quality food to guests while maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the expo station.
A successful Expo/Food Runner ensures that the kitchen and dining area remain connected and efficient, providing guests with an outstanding dining experience. Attention to detail, speed, and teamwork are essential for this role.
Responsibilities
- Deliver food and drinks to guests in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to kitchen and food safety standards.
- Help to keep the kitchen organized and tidy, ensuring that all areas are clean and safe.
- Work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure that food is prepared and delivered on time.
- Assist with food preparation, including desserts
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude, adhering to our high standards of hospitality.
- Clock in and check for any special instructions or notes from the manager.
- Turn on all necessary equipment, such as heat lamps and warming trays.
- Ensure all serving utensils, plates, and related items are clean and ready.
- Stock condiments, sauces, garnishes, and other necessary items.
- Familiarize yourself with the day's specials and any menu changes.
- Note any special attention or modifications required for specific dishes.
- Ensure all food meets the restaurant’s quality standards.
- Check for consistent portion sizes and presentation before serving.
- Keep the expo station clean and organized throughout the shift.
- Regularly wipe down surfaces, sanitize utensils, and ensure the trash is disposed of properly.
- Anticipate busy periods and make sure you have all necessary supplies.
- Stay ahead of demand by stocking ingredients and condiments to handle the rush smoothly.
- Sanitize all countertops, prep areas, and the expo line, including heat lamps and pass-through windows.
- Wipe down all equipment used during the shift, ensuring all kitchen tools are cleaned and stored properly.
- Sweep and mop the expo area to ensure it is clean and free of debris.
- Empty all trash cans, replace liners, and ensure the area is free of waste.
- Refill condiment stations, napkins, silverware, and other necessary items.
- Check for expired items and restock everything for the next shift.
- Clean and label sauce bottles, restock desserts, utensils, and other items.
- Empty water trays, wipe down the outside of the station, sweep, and replace trash bags.
- Communicate any issues or inventory needs to the incoming staff.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in the food service industry, preferably in a kitchen or dining environment.
- Knowledge of food handling and kitchen safety practices.
- Ability to lift and carry trays of food and drinks.
- Strong customer service skills and a passion for providing exceptional guest experiences.
- Basic cooking skills and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
