JOB PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Facilities Associate position for The Worship Place is an assignment that utilizes the incumbent’s skills and work ethic to maintain the physical condition of the interior and exterior spaces of The Worship Place as a clean, safe, functional, and desirable place for all those entering its premises. This position primarily provides ongoing facilities upkeep, maintenance support, and event set ups for both Church campuses through defined duties and activities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma or equivalent is desired for this position with an emphasis on good communications skills. Prior experience as a church, school, or building Custodian is helpful. The nature of this job requires a person who is friendly, industrious and detail oriented.
POSTION SUMMARY:
The Worship Place Facilities Associate is a support function that provides personal services and attention to the Church by keeping all campuses clean, orderly, and properly maintained for all who utilize the facilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The person holding this position will perform the following primary functions under the direction of the Facilities Managers and with the overall oversight of the Senior Pastor of the Worship Place and in accordance with the church’s constitution and by-laws:
1. Assists in cleaning all areas of the Church facilities at both locations, including the Sanctuary, offices, foyer, restrooms, meeting rooms, kitchens, storage, all floors and maintenance rooms.
2. Keeps outside entrances and primary walkways clean and free of any trash, limbs, or obstructions.
3. Coordinates with Church staff for the daily schedule of building usage and coordinates resources or performs room set up and take down for either campus.
4. Collects and removes all trash from the Church and grounds.
5. Orders and maintains supplies such as cleaning and paper products.
6. Works with Church staff and volunteers to secure the buildings on a daily basis.
7. Keeps the restrooms and kitchen areas clean, supplied and maintained, including the mopping of floors.
8. Reports all maintenance needs to the Facilities Managers.
9. Maintains constant vigilance for any unsafe or hazardous conditions on Church campuses and reports anything requiring immediate action to direct supervisor.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
OTHER DUTIES:
The Facilities Associate may, from time-to-time, be asked to assist in Church functions as a support to the activities prior to, during, and after the function is completed. There can be times when the Facilities Associate is asked to work irregular hours or days to support a Church activity.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
This position requires the incumbent to have the requisite skills of a trained Facilities Associate and the capabilities to be flexible in their support to the various audiences that may require this person’s time and energy. The person in this position must be able to work independently and without constant supervision. Physical exertion with activities such as lifting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, using tools and yard equipment, and carrying heavy objects is expected as a condition of this job.
Due to the nature of some Church business, personal counseling, or staff discussions, the person in this position will be required to maintain a strict sense of confidentiality regarding sensitive issues that should not be disseminated.
The ability to communicate verbally and in writing is also vital to the success of the responsibilities connected to this position.
This position will normally be scheduled four to five days a week for a total of 25 work hours per week including weekends but could be asked to work more on special occasions and seasonal demands.
A demonstrated commitment to the teachings and acceptance as a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ is expected for the incumbent who occupies this position.
NOTICE:

The Facilities Associate will be required to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties requested by the Senior Pastor or Facilities Managers.
Regular attendance is required in this position. This document does not create an employment contract, implied or otherwise, other than an “at will” employment relationship.
