The Columbus Airport is looking for someone mechanically inclined with a keen eye for detail. Do you thrive in dynamic environments where problem-solving is key? From conducting routine inspections to diagnosing and repairing complex facility issues, your expertise keeps our operations running efficiently and safely. Key Responsibilities:

1. Equipment Maintenance:

· Conduct regular inspections of machinery, equipment, and systems to identify potential issues.

· Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to schedules to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.

· Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to diagnose and resolve malfunctions promptly.

· Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand and power tools, welding equipment, and precision instruments.

· Collaborate with operations team to address maintenance needs and prioritize tasks based on urgency.

2. Facility Maintenance:

· Maintain building systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

· Conduct routine checks of building infrastructure to identify and address safety hazards, leaks, or damages.

· Perform repairs or coordinate with external contractors for complex maintenance tasks.

· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards related to facility maintenance.

3. Documentation and Reporting:

· Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inspections.

· Document equipment specifications, manuals, and maintenance procedures for reference.

· Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, and potential improvements to management for resolution.

· Assist in developing and implementing maintenance plans and strategies to enhance efficiency and reliability.

4. Team Collaboration:

· Work collaboratively with other facilities technicians and departmental teams to achieve common goals.

· Provide support and guidance to junior technicians or new hires as needed.

· Participate in training programs to stay updated on new technologies, equipment, and maintenance techniques.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in maintenance or related field preferred.

· Proven experience as a maintenance technician or similar role in a manufacturing, industrial, or commercial environment.

· Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting techniques.

· Proficiency in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and measuring devices.

· Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

· Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.

· Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to maintenance emergencies outside of regular schedules.

Physical Requirements:

The role of a facilities technician involves various physical tasks that require strength, agility, and endurance. While specific requirements may vary depending on the organization and nature of the work, typical physical demands for this position include:

1. Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds. This may include lifting items from ground level, overhead, or in confined spaces.

2. Standing and Walking: Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods, often throughout the workday, while performing maintenance tasks and moving between job sites within the facility.

3. Bending and Stooping: Flexibility to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch to access machinery, equipment, and components for inspection, repair, and maintenance.

4. Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in using hand and power tools to perform tasks such as tightening bolts, assembling components, and repairing machinery. This requires good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.

5. Working at Heights: Comfort and ability to work at elevated heights, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, or using aerial lifts, when conducting maintenance activities on overhead equipment or structures.

6. Repetitive Motions: Capability to perform repetitive motions, including grasping, twisting, and turning, when operating tools or performing assembly/disassembly tasks.

7. Physical Stamina: Endurance to work in physically demanding environments for extended periods, often in non-climate-controlled settings, while maintaining focus and attention to detail.

8. Safety Awareness: Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and procedures to mitigate the risk of injury while working with machinery, hazardous materials, or in potentially hazardous conditions.
