We are currently seeking a dynamic Family Development Director to join our leadership team to help us advance our mission and grow our impact in the community.

What You’ll Do

As the Family Development Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in fostering positive change by coordinating social service activities and supporting families on their path to self-sufficiency. You will lead a dedicated team to deliver crucial resources and services while working closely with community partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operation of grants and programs that support low-income families including a case management program, a volunteer program, and a financial assistance program.
  • Cultivate and maintain community partnerships to ensure families are connected to the resources they need.
  • Ensure department goals and outcomes are met and exceeded.
  • Research, write, and manage grants, including the annual federal CSBG grant.
  • Supervise, manage, and evaluate team members, fostering growth and excellence.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for grant programs.
  • Present programs at community events and meetings quarterly.
  • Conduct comprehensive community needs assessments every three years.
  • Compile marketing materials, press releases, and success stories to support agency visibility.
  • Monitor systems to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Teams, Excel, and Word.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Live in one of our service counties - Watauga, Avery, Mitchell, or Yancey

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
