Position Title: Family Engagement Coordinator

Hours: Monday-Friday, 20 hours a week at Howe Elementary School for the 2024/2025 school year

Salary: $20 per hour

Reports to: CEO, BGCWRA

Supervisor: CEO, BGCWRA & Future Forward Leadership team

Job Summary

To engage the families of participants in the Future Forward program to enhance student reading progress and development of social emotional skills.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • At least three years’ experience directly related to children.
  • Enthusiasm and patience for working with K5 – 3rd grade youth and their families.
  • A high degree of independence, self-motivation, and creativity.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and team-building skills.
  • Willingness to learn the fundamentals of early literacy acquisition.
  • Basic computer literacy, including ability to learn and utilize new technologies and apply technology to communication, logistics and other key job tasks.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to inspire and empower student participants, staff and families

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work with teachers, Instrucational Coordinator, and tutors to ensure families receive information on their children’s progress and how best to support their children’s academic achievement.
  • Successfully contact caregivers at least twice monthly to discuss student progress.
  • Complete a minimum of 2 home visits for every Future Forward family annually.
  • Coordinate monthly family events, including actively seeking parental involvement
  • Observe tutoring sessions for all participating students at least once each month.
  • Meet with teachers and staff to evaluate program progress and share feedback and concerns from parents/ families.
  • Attend all required professional development trainings/workshops.
  • Participate in programs, projects, and special events.
  • Assist program in achieving deliverables and outcomes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
