The Forest Lawn Cemetery Group is seeking a Family Service Representative (FSR) to join our sales team in providing exceptional and compassionate service to families looking to make informed decisions for at-need and pre-need planning.

Forest Lawn is a respected provider of cemetery services dedicated to helping families honor their loved ones with dignity and care. We pride ourselves on our commitment to providing excellent service and support during life's most challenging moments.

The Forest Lawn Group owns and operates 11 cemeteries in the Western New York region. This position operates out of our Forest Lawn Cemetery office but may service any of our cemeteries as needed or required.

Family Service Representatives are responsible for the following essential job functions including but not limited to:

  • Providing the highest and most respectful level of care, support and professionalism to families.
  • Conducting sales meetings and presentations to individuals and families interested in pre-arranged burial services as well as at-need arrangements at assigned Cemetery locations.
  • Generating leads through community involvement and networking.
  • Follow up and referral generation from existing client families.
  • Calling on interment orders to seek interest on additional products or services.
  • Provide information about burial options, pricing, mausoleums, and other cemetery products.
  • Coordination with funeral directors, cemetery staff, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of services.
  • Assisting customers in finding lot locations on a cemetery map and providing accurate directions to the requested site or escorting the customer to the site.
  • Frequent travel to assigned Forest Lawn Group cemeteries as well as occasional travel to any or all Forest Lawn Group owned and operated cemeteries.
  • Accurate completion of contracts, insurance assignments, invoices and reports
  • Input of data into the company CRM, sales and other relevant systems.
  • Continued learning and knowledge of cemetery sales processes, online pricing and inventory management.
  • Consistently build relationships and work cooperatively with the sales and operations staff.
  • Maintain knowledge on industry trends and regulations.

Schedule

  • General hours are Monday - Friday 8:30AM - 4:30PM
  • Occasional evening and holiday availability to respond to customer needs.
  • Saturday availability required, will be rotated with other staff.

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent combined with relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree or some college level education preferred
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a funeral home or cemetery setting
  • Valid NYS Driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a sensitive environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in using and learning computer programs such as CRM software and other sales tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
