Position Summary

The Anti-Recidivism Coalition is seeking a full-time Finance Associate. Reporting to the Finance Director, this position supports the finance team in accounting for core and project operations and other related activities as assigned.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist with all functions of accounts payable processing, expense coding and selected functions in monthly books close.
  • Work with finance team and project leaders to ensure finances are accurately reflected in the general ledger, which may include preparing/posting journal entries and monitoring fund-based accounting activity.
  • Review and/or develop operational budgets as needed.
  • Assist with invoice creation across a range of funding type.
  • Provide financial analysis as needed to support work of Grants, HR, Program, and Development team.
  • Interpret financial data to assess project financial health, diagnose problems, identify concerns. Communicate analyses to project leaders and assist them in understanding their projects’ financial situation.
  • Prepare and interpret cash flow analysis, proformas, and other analytics to help the organization make data-driven decisions.
  • Address questions relating to internal financial policies and procedures, or other matters related to finance and accounting.
  • Work closely with all components of Operations and HR Divisions to support organizational operations. Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three years’ work experience in accounting or related field.
  • Experience in the nonprofit or government sector a plus.
  • Accounting software knowledge required; QuickBooks required.
  • Must have excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills as well as ability to manage multiple workflows.
  • High level of experience with Excel required.

The Finance Associate will have the following experience and attributes:

  • Ability to work in a team environment and maintain a high degree of confidentiality due to the nature of the position.
  • Excellent client service and professional demeanor in communicating with staff members at all levels throughout the institution, as well as with partners, vendors, and others.

Salary/Benefits

  • Pay rate is $26.44 - $31.25 D.O.E.
  • Multiple employer medical/dental/ vision plans with up to 100% employee coverage, 50% for dependents.
