Job Overview
Botanique is looking for a flower shop assistant to support our designers and ensure that all production runs smoothly. This is not a glamorous job, but a vital one which all operations rely on. You will be working in a fast paced and energetic environment with a vibrant team of creatives, and immersing yourself in the behind-the-scenes work of a retail flower shop and event studio. This is not a design job, and requires no previous floral experience, but there will be opportunities to learn some of the basics and mechanics of design as you go. We will be interviewing throughout the month of February, but the position does not start until May of 2026. It runs through October and possibly November. There may be potential for limited winter hours.
Duties
- Unpacking, inspecting, and conditioning fresh flower shipments early in the week
- Maintenance of the flowers throughout the week by changing water and washing buckets, processing flowers by removing leaves, bad petals, thorns, etc.
- Cleaning tools, workstations, and coolers
- Prepping supplies and hardgoods for events, such as cleaning and organizing inventory of candles and vases
- Repeating that last bullet because there are A LOT of candles to clean
- General upkeep of the shop including sweeping, mopping, taking out the trash
- Assist with loading vans and delivery vehicles
- Delivery/supply runs in our company vehicles (optional if you are not comfortable with cargo van)
- Working in the retail shop to assist customers with picking up or placing flower orders
- On-site support at weddings and events (if schedule allows) including moving supplies and flowers from the van to the location, then setting tablescapes per instruction by team lead, or supporting designer with floral installations.
- Work on your feet for the majority of your shift which will include bending, lifting, repetitive tasks, and getting your hands dirty
- Working in all weather conditions including rain and heat on wedding/event days
- Assisting designers with light floral design work
Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
