Foreman
Welcome to Laurelless, where we redefine luxury residential remodeling and high-end flips. We're not just another construction company, nor just flippers; we're a ‘Concierge Construction’ firm committed to delivering extraordinary experiences and setting a new standard of excellence in the industry.
At Laurelless, resting on our laurels is not an option. We're relentless in our pursuit of doing things the right way; we understand that how you do anything is how you do everything. As a result, we are constantly pushing to exceed expectations. Our culture thrives on personal growth, professional fun, and a refusal to settle for mediocrity. We hold each other accountable to these high standards because it’s the way we each conduct our lives.
Our driving force is a set of core principles centered on surpassing client expectations and delivering exceptional quality. Our team is united by a passion for excellence and a shared commitment to enjoying every step of the journey. If you're ready to be part of something truly special, where your skills and dedication will shine, then ask yourself: Are you Laurelless?
Join us and be a part of a team that doesn't just build, but is redefining what the acceptable ‘standard’ is in our industry.
About the Role:
We are looking for a motivated, talented Foreman to join our team in Denver. In addition to providing top-notch remodeling experiences to our loyal homeowner clients, Laurelless is also redefining what the marketplace should expect from “flippers” in the real estate investing space. Our vision is limitless and our goals are lofty- this Foreman will directly impact the long-term vision of Laurelless as we continue to grow and become the leading luxury remodeler and flipper in Denver. Our Foreman is responsible for supporting the Project Manager by managing day-to-day job site operations as well as performing hands-on work daily to progress our projects and manage quality standards
What you’ll do:
- Manage the daily operations of each job site and perform hands-on work to contribute to the daily progression of projects
- We believe that most subcontractors do 90% of the work, we should prepare the first 5% and fulfill the final 5% to allow for the successful forward momentum of the project
- Quality Control, you will uphold the Laurelless standard of construction on job sites as well as ensuring the client experience is Laurelless. This also means managing the Laurelless expectations from our team of subcontractors and laborers
- Help procure materials and equipment for the job site, ideally this is all done proactively but you understand that last minute runs are sometimes needed. You use these experiences to identify operational inefficiencies to make each project more efficient and constantly seek improvement for the business as a whole
- Communicate and coordinate with Project Manager on a daily basis to ensure that expectations for work to be done are thoroughly understood and executed
- Post photos and job logs daily into the appropriate company platforms
- Read specifications such as plans, sketches, or building plans to determine construction requirements, prepare project layouts, and determine materials needed to complete the job
- Participate in walk-throughs with clients
- Determine discrepancies in plans vs. actual site conditions, then create and implement the best solutions to achieve the intended finished product without sacrificing quality. Remodel construction seldomly aligns perfectly with construction plans- adapting and overcoming is a daily expectation
Who you are:
- You are the face of the company on the job site. You provide a HIGH level of customer service when interacting with our clients regularly
- You seek to understand and truly listen to what the client wants, what the vendors/subcontractors can provide, and how it works to move the project forward
- Ability to think big picture, we are working day-to-day on projects but you understand what we are doing now will impact the future growth and longevity of Laurelless
- Action-oriented, you’re able to understand problems and you get excited to find and implement solutions
- Detail-oriented, you’re able to perform assigned duties with great attention to Laurelless’ demanding quality standards in all areas of the job
- Proactive, you're able to predict possible changes and create risk mitigation strategies before it’s too late
- Serve as a team lead by providing supervision to hourly laborers through motivation, direction, review, and feedback of assigned tasks
- Self-starter, you don’t wait to solve problems or identify areas of opportunity
- You make decisions based on what’s right for the business, not based on what’s easiest
- You understand that interruptions to the plan happen but can pivot and adapt quickly while keeping the job on track
- You have the ability to clearly articulate the expectations of any aspect of the remodel plan to the appropriate team members or subcontractors. You also have the ability to clearly and calmly identify when the expectations are not met to the same team members or subcontractors. You can come up with a solution with them. There is no room for tempers or egos- just expectations and accountability.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in residential remodel trades and construction including, but not limited to, carpentry, flooring, tile laying, plumbing, etc.
- IRC & ICC code knowledge
- You must be proficient at using all common construction tools
- Knowledge of building construction means and methods, scheduling, drawings, plans and specifications
- Ability to use tools, lift up 50 lbs, and in general good health to stand or sit for periods of time on construction sites, in meetings, and in a vehicle driving to projects
- JobTread or other construction management software experience recommended
- Strong ability to make great connections with people in the industry- Laurelless thrives on great relationships in the industry and relies on these relationships to continue exceeding client’s expectations
- Communication skills are a must for daily interaction with trade partners, management, and most importantly our clients
- You understand that you were given two ears for a reason, you listen well and you can be eloquent and firm when needs are not being met
- Organization is KEY!
- You have a sense of humor and enjoy getting to know your team members. We want to foster a family mentality where we all succeed and celebrate wins together
Travel: in the Denver Metro area 100% of the time
