Must live within assigned territory, which includes Northern California
SUMMARY: Responsible for volunteer management and development to create successful Friends of NRA fundraising activities in the assigned area. Promotes the NRA Foundation grant program and NRA programs. Knowledge of and support for the mission of the National Rifle Association. May be required to cover events/territory other than home area.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Develops, organizes and manages successful Friends of NRA fundraising activities such as banquets, special events and raffles to meet annual fundraising objectives.
2) Provides leadership, training and direction to Friends of NRA volunteers, committee officers and State Fund Committee through regular meetings and workshops. Ensures volunteer compliance with all operating and financial policies outlined in the Event Fundraising Guide.
3) Completes, submits and maintains all required event financial reports in a timely manner and ensures that all expenses stay within the approved budget.
4) Coordinates the distribution of state Foundation grant applications; serves as Secretary of the State Fund Committee; and ensures compliance with all requirements of the Foundation state grants.
5) Identifies, recruits and retains new Friends of NRA volunteers to capitalize on area growth opportunities.
6) Serves as a liaison between the NRA, members, affiliated clubs, state associations, and other state and local organizations.
7) Serves as a clearinghouse for requests of information regarding NRA programs.
SCOPE: High visibility with NRA volunteers and membership, NRA Board of Directors, and NRA staff. Responsible for large sums of money on a regular basis, and the care and maintenance of NRA equipment. Functions in a fast paced, deadline oriented work environment with varied priorities and responsibilities and minimal direct supervision. Position requires frequent driving and extended work hours, including weekends and evenings. Ability to lift and carry 25-30 pounds required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A Bachelor's degree is preferred, and a strong background in the shooting sports is recommended. Previous experience in a leadership position and business management is essential. Banquet fundraising, volunteer recruitment and volunteer management experience is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Proficiency in MS Office suite required. Strong public speaking, and a sales and marketing background required. Strong organizational and time-management skills are critical. Valid driver's license with no restrictions required.
