Fulfillment Supervisor Job Summary

The responsibilities of the CFS supervisor include training and supervising employees, reducing operational costs, monitoring the department’s compliance with operational policies, and timely execution and progress of administrative duties.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Supervising Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the CFS warehouse, ensuring efficient and timely receipt, storage, handling, and dispatch of containers and cargo. Oversee and coordinate day to day operations with warehouse staff, Brokerage team, administration departments and management. Complete warehouse operations requirements by scheduling, assigning employees, and following up on work progress and results. Coordinate and lead daily startup meetings as well as end of shift touch base.

P&L support. Reduce operating costs through process improvements and labor management.

Develop strategies to improve turn times and department metrics.

Team Management: Lead and manage a team of warehouse personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management. Facilitate performance discussions of the team and evaluate performance and review process. Actively delivering consistent feedback both through recognition and corrective action. Building the competencies of the Team through training, coaching and cross functional exposure. Improving the work environment and operations of the team

Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory records, track incoming and outgoing shipments, and conduct regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.

Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including occupational health and safety guidelines.

Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to TSA / CTPAT.

Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance warehouse efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.

Customer Service: Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customers, to provide excellent customer service and resolve any operational issues or inquiries. Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are available for each account serviced. Follow SOP in performance of all operational processes.

Equipment and Facility Management: Oversee the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment and facilities, ensuring they are in proper working condition and meet operational requirements.

Documentation and Reporting: Generate and maintain warehouse-related documentation, such as shipping manifests, receiving reports, and performance metrics. Prepare regular reports on operational activities and key performance indicators.

Other duties as assigned by the leadership team.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Logistics/Supply Chain Management or related field

· At least 5 years of experience in Logistics

· Experience: Previous experience in warehouse operations and supervision, preferably in a CFS or logistics environment with Inventory Management experience.

· Knowledge: Strong understanding of warehouse management principles, inventory control, and shipping/receiving processes. Familiarity with container freight operations is desirable.

· Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks effectively, and promote a positive work environment.

· Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Balance team and individual responsibilities

· Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.

· Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to resolving operational challenges. Good working knowledge of operational procedures and policies.

· Computer Skills: Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, and Microsoft Office applications. Specific programs CW1, Silver Bullet.
