Full Time Surgery and Diagnostic Testing Precertification Specialist
Greater Knoxville Ear, Nose and Throat has been a growing privately owned medical and surgical practice for 26 years. We are looking for the right person to join our team of professionals. With our five clinical locations, three hospital affiliations, eleven providers and nine audiologist we are able to offer Knoxville and surrounding areas the ENT health care they need from sinus surgery to head and neck cancer surgery. We also provide allergy testing and treatment, hearing aid evaluation and fitting, and CT diagnostic scans in office to accommodate our patient’s needs.

Position Summary
This position will join a team that is responsible for obtaining surgery and diagnostic testing authorizations to ensure that the patient receives the care they need while capturing appropriate reimbursement for all services rendered. This team member will communicate directly with physicians, surgery schedulers, hospitals, insurance carriers coding and billing department and patients. The position will be placed in a team environment under the direct supervision of the Revenue Cycle Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Obtain in or out of network authorizations for surgeries performed in an outpatient, inpatient and ASC settings.
· Obtain in or out of network authorizations for in office procedures and diagnostic testing.
· Verify patient demographics
· Verify patient insurance coverage
· Collaborate with the coders to ensure all CPT codes and ICD-10 codes are correct
· Provide requested information from a facility or insurance carrier in a timely manner
· Document all communication appropriately
Qualifications
· Must desire a team work environment
· Must demonstrate clear and concise communication skills
· Must exhibit a positive attitude
· Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes
· Previous precertification experience preferred
· Have an overall understanding of insurance benefits
· Make evident the attention to detail
· Computer proficiency with Windows, Outlook and Excel
· Must understand and maintain patient confidentiality under HIPAA laws
