Job Title: Fund Development Specialist

Time Commitment: Non-Exempt, Full Time

Reports to: Development Director

Who we are:

The ROCK (Reaching Our Community Kids) Center for Youth Development is a dynamic and inclusive non-profit organization dedicated to providing safe and healthy developmental education, after-school programs, and community-based activities to support the success and wellbeing of middle school and high school students.

The ROCK operates two essential programs: Discover You™ and out-of-school time. While each program serves a distinct and vital purpose, they are mutually dependent and complementary, prioritizing the specific needs of youth in our communities. These programs aim to foster character development, social-emotional skills, tangible life skills, confidence, a sense of belonging, and a foundation for healthy life choices and relationships.

The Role

The Fund Development Specialist will identify, define, and develop funding sources to support existing and planned program activities and lead the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals to federal, state, and private funding agencies.

Primary responsibilities include preparation of proposals and grant applications, and performance of responsible professional and administrative work in researching, identifying, developing and responding to public and private grant opportunities in areas that support programming. The position is also responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on the performance of program activities funded by federal, state, and private funding agencies. (80%)

This position also includes assisting in other fund devleopment roles that could be; event planning, donor management, communications, and marketing. (20%)

Responsibilities:· Maintain relationships with existing grantors.

· Oversee grant seeking including research, proposal writing, and reporting requirements on a local, state, and Federal level.

· Generates high-quality proposals, narratives, applications, and supporting documents in response to solicitations consistent with all policies and procedures of The ROCK and the requirements and guidelines of the funding agencies;

· Generates revenues for The ROCK’s programs through timely submission of well-researched, well written and well-documented grant proposals;

· Maintains primary responsibility for grant schedules and tracking grants;

· Serves as a liaison to all funding agencies and organizations;

· Works with appropriate personnel to research, develop, write and submit letters of inquiry, concept papers and grant proposals;

· Coordinates and follows-up on the progress of submitted proposals;

· Collaborate with fundraising events.

· Oversee fundraising database and tracking systems.

· Collaborate with fundraising staff.

· Oversee the creation of publications to support fundraising activities.

· Perform other related duties as requested.

· Develop positive relationships with other donors, foundations, and community leaders.

· Enhance and develop partnerships with community members and agencies.

· Attend and participate fully in ROCK meetings, training, and planning sessions as needed.

Minimum Job Requirements

· A bachelor’s degree or equivalent non-profit experience

· Grant writing experience

· Excellent Computer skills (Microsoft Office 360, Word, PowerPoint and Excel), and database management skills;

· Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written

· Motivated self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively and independently with purpose and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

· Be highly organized with the ability to implement systems and follow-up processes;

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
