About this role
The General Maintenance is responsible for performing a variety of routine maintenance and repair tasks to ensure that buildings, equipment, and facilities operate efficiently and remain in good condition. This includes duties related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general upkeep.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain boxes, material and hand trucks or other industrial equipment in neat and orderly manner.
• Changes water and HVAC filters
• Operates simple hand and power tools
• Clean/lubricate equipment
• Collects trash and organizes common areas
• Preps and paints int/exterior building features
• Operates forklifts and scissor lifts
• Assemble and move furniture/carts/cabinets
• Service/repair domestic plumbing fixtures
• Replaces simple lamps (screw/pin/twist); assist with chemical spills
• Clean and maintain floors.
• Pick up reusable scrap for salvage and store in containers
• Collect and transport trash to disposal area.

Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be willing and able to work odd hours, weekends, and holidays.
• Must possess a California driving license and maintain it in good standing.
• Must be able to work in various working conditions such as heights (25′), confined spaces, indoors, outdoors, rain, and/or summer heat.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Willingness to join and comply with union rules and regulations
• Must be safety oriented and follow all safety and plant rules.
• Must be capable of respirator approved.
• Must be able to be a certified Forklift Operator.
• Must possess a California driving license and maintain it in good standing.

The salary range for this role is $18 - $19 per hour. This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this open role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
