Feonix Vision: Mobility Solutions for the Health and Wellbeing of Every Person in Every Community
The goal of the Grant Writer is to work within the Development Team at Feonix to increase Feonix’s ability to serve the community and to bring to light the transportation challenges faced by millions. This role works on the entire lifecycle of a grant and on Customer Relationship Management, as it pertains to grants.
Purpose of the role:
We are seeking a passionate grant professional to own the grant department within the Development team. You will provide an essential role in the organization where you will be researching and coordinating potential grant opportunities, writing detailed, organized, and compelling grant proposals and letters of inquiry, managing the awarded grant and grant reports, with assistance from the Community Development Team, and tracking all grant-related information in the organization’s CRM. You will collaborate regularly with the Director of Development & other team members to develop the information required to effectively create these documents. You must be an excellent writer, strong communicator, a self-starter with the ability to work independently, possess strong persuasive writing skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You must be deadline-driven, able to multitask, and possess an ability to develop positive relationships at all levels in the organization.
You can expect to do the following:
- Conduct research (federal, state, county, city, and private funding sources) to identify prospective funding sources.
- Develop relationships with private funders to increase award potential
- Evaluate potential grant opportunities using go/no go criteria developed collaboratively with the Director of Development
- Develop well-researched, tailored, and high-impact proposals and letters of inquiry.
- Collaborate and partner with all areas of the organization to ensure proposals reflect the organization’s mission, programs, and goals
- Work with the Director of Development to review proposals and report components from key staff (i.e., budgets, attachments, supporting information).
- Meet proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering writing, review, approval, and submission.
- Obtain approvals by reviewing proposals with key providers and project managers.
- Improve proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate.
- Distribute executed contracts to internal departments and compile necessary documents for submission to the funder.
- Assist with the implementation of the new grant, as needed, executing a well organized “hand-off” to the Project Manager and Community Development team.
- Work cooperatively with other departments to manage the reporting process, ensuring that appropriate team members complete, review, and approve final documents
- Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership for new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to the organization.
- Attend and present grant process updates at requested meetings.
To succeed in this role, you should be proficient with the following responsibilities:
- Research, identify, and match grant opportunities to meet specific organizational objectives

- Maintain an organized database of all grant submissions, including dates, outcomes, and feedback
- Manage the reporting process for all awarded grants, ensuring compliance with grant terms and conditions
- Build and nurture relationships with private grant makers, such as foundations
- Keep current with organizational goals and objectives to effectively align grant-seeking efforts
