Full job description
We are seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) HR Generalist to join our team in Cambridge.
The HR Generalist supports the daily operations of the plant Human Resources Department. Assists HR Manager to achieve overall plant objectives. Major areas covered are HR department administration & reporting, payroll coordination, new employee onboarding, and employee relations.
Essential Functions:
- Consistently applies employee relations best practices as necessary to promote employee engagement and productivity.
- Administers HR-related programs, including the parking program and uniform program.
- Supports recruitment and onboarding processes for the plant, including administration of internship programs.
- Communicates with payroll department regarding weekly hourly payroll.
- Supports the HRM with management of wage and salary programs and employee services & benefits programs.
- Maintains accurate employee records, ensuring both confidentiality and integrity of all HR data.
- Assists HRM in monitoring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including EEO, FLSA, FMLA, OSHA, ADA, and others, as well as supporting consistent application of internal company policies.
- Maintains and updates communications boards for the plant.
- Manages plant events and celebrations.
- Runs monthly reports as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
- Professional certification in the Human Resources field (SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, & Experience
- Generalist background with broad knowledge of HR practices and competencies.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- 3+ years of experience gained through generalist positions within Human Resources with increasing responsibility.
- Spanish language skills at a professional level are required.
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is a plus.
