Human Resources Generalist

Reports To:

The Human Resources Generalist will report to the Vice President

Job Description:

Precision Environmental Company is seeking a Human Resources Generalist who both strategizes and works hand-on in development of human resources systems, initiatives, and processes in the areas of but not limited to employee relations, recruitment, benefits, and performance management. The role is meant to provide great internal customer support, and drive HR excellence and process improvement. This position is mainly focused on the HR initiatives for Precision’s 50-person non-union office and warehouse employees with some overlapping of Precision’s union workforce.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Driven to recruit and retain a skilled workforce: posts open positions, screens, interviews, and recommends qualified applicants; conducts background and reference checks. Handles onboarding process including completion and accuracy of new employee paperwork and applicable policies and documents.
  • Attends and recruits at college and trade career fairs as company representative.
  • Provides general orientation to new employees according to company policy. Acts as resource person to help new employees get through their job-specific orientation.
  • Performs benefits administration to include open enrollment, claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefit information to employees; has leadership role in Precision’s Wellness Program.
  • Schedules and manages employee review process
  • Responds to employee relation issues such as discipline, employee complaints, and harassment allegations
  • Serves as employee advocate and ensures employee personnel files are complete and employee information is kept confidential.
  • Maintains awareness of employee morale climate and provides/develops programs to ensure good morale level.
  • Facilitates or provides training to the workforce and assists in professional development opportunities
  • Leads the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures
  • Maintains compliance with state and federal employment laws
  • Maintains working relationships with all levels of the organization and adheres to terms of policies and procedures by monitoring the day-to-day implementation of policies concerning wages, hours, and working conditions
  • Assists in company events and corporate functions
  • Be able to generate reports from excel as requested
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities and travel is not required
  • Other duties as assigned

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable area of study is preferred

  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong understanding of HR law including FMLA, AADA, HIPPA, EEOC, ADEA, NLRA, ERISA, OSHA, and FLSA
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, & Excel and Adobe Acrobat PDF programs.
  • Employee must be self-motivated. Must have ability to handle multiple different job responsibilities and open to taking on new responsibilities based on the company’s needs.
  • Employee must possess the ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure.
  • Unquestionable integrity and ability to work in a family-friendly environment
  • Experience with HRIS/CRM databases

Job Type: Full-time, potential for 32 hours, 4-day work week

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
