An established, multimillion-dollar aviation supply chain and aviation services organization that is dedicated to serving the air transportation industry, has an immediate employment opportunity for an experienced Import Specialist at its Roselle, IL location.
SUMMARY
As a Customs Import Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the customs import process for our organization. You will ensure compliance with customs regulations and requirements, facilitate the smooth flow of imported goods, and maintain accurate import records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborating with various internal departments, external vendors, and government authorities to ensure timely and efficient customs clearance
- Coordinate and monitor the customs clearance process to ensure timely release of imported goods.
- Communicate with customs authorities, brokers, and other stakeholders to resolve any issues or delays that may arise.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Prepare and review import documentation, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, and customs declarations.
- Maintain accurate and organized import records in accordance with customs regulations
- Duty Refunds: Submit disputes to customs brokers where duty & taxes paid are not warranted
- Establish a duty drawback program
- Determine the appropriate tariff classification and valuation of imported goods. Conduct thorough product research and classification to ensure accurate duty rates and compliance with customs regulations

QUALIFICATIONS

- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or a related field with three years’ experience or five years’ experience without a Bachelor’s degree.
- Proven experience in customs import operations and customs compliance.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Oral and written command on the English language essential
