Full job description

Sutter Home and Hearth is looking for an install technician's assistant. This person will assist one of our lead install technicians with installation of fireplaces, stoves, fire pits, and BBQ's. Founded in 1979, Sutter Home and Hearth is an established local company where you will know all of your fellow coworkers, and where each employee is a name - not a number. We serve a variety of clients from homeowners to architects: from the historic cottage down the street, to the custom lakefront mansion - and yes, even the skyscraper downtown!

The right candidate will enjoy working with their hands, have a strong work ethic, a strong desire to learn, and will be able to work well within a team. Sutter Home and Hearth will provide job training for gas plumbing and specialty product installation.

This is an exciting and versatile role at Sutter Home and Hearth that presents a different project and something new almost every day. The experience gained in this position will lead to advancement for the right candidate. The work itself, while sometimes difficult, is always rewarding and will provide a daily feeling of accomplishment. Our installation teams are supported by full time estimators and administrative staff to ensure projects are well vetted and prepared prior to starting work.

This is an important role and an important department that Sutter Home takes seriously. If you like working with your hands, playing with fire, and performing work that people will be amazed by, then this is the right position for you!

Benefits includes the following:

  • Full time position
  • Paid Health and Dental Insurance
  • Paid Time Off
  • 8 Paid Holidays Per Year
  • 401/k with 25% Match
  • You get to play with fire on a very regular basis

The right candidate should also possess the following:

  • Basic understanding of hand and power tools
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting
  • Ability to work from ladders
  • Ability to work on roofs
  • Ability to walk up and down steps repeatedly
  • Ability to kneel, bend, and squat
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver license with clean driving record
  • High School diploma or equivalent

There will be much to learn if you are not familiar with our industry, but we will provide all the necessary training to the right candidate.
